** MEDIA RELEASE  – 11/05/2020 **

The Narrabri Industrial Network (NIN) is a not for profit organisation that represents our leading local industrial businesses.

The purpose of the group is to showcase the goods and services available locally, to contractors and businesses conducting projects in the region.

Through networking, support and advocacy, we aim to connect our members with opportunities and increase the involvement of our highly capable local businesses in future projects.

The formation of NIN comes at an important time as our community emerges from a long period of difficult trading conditions owing to drought and other factors. We strongly encourage locals to use local businesses first. We also aim to build the right relationships to ensure our members are front and centre when contractors seek supply of goods and provision of services.

The success of NIN will be evident on both sides of the transaction. The user will enjoy the savings of time and cost coupled with the efficiencies that come from using local services who know the region – while the supplier benefits from increased utility and business.

The growing membership base currently consists of businesses representing Industrial Supplies, Earthmoving/Civil Works, Waste Management, Fabrication and Induction Hardening, Concrete and Quarries, Builders, Plumbers, Automation and Control, Signage, Mechanics, Haulage, Professional Services and the Real Estate sectors.

NIN would like to thank its founding members for their strong support of the group. The founding members are; ITC National, JA Smith Solutions, Johnstone Concrete & Landscape Supplies, Namoi Waste Corp, Specialised Civil Services and WTC Earthmoving.

NIN is in full support of future developments concerning Coal, Gas and Inland Rail that will have many positive benefits for our region.

NIN aims to work closely with Narrabri Shire Council and Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce to further in the interests of its members and the region.

NIN is building a strong relationship with Narrabri High School to connect our youth with employment opportunities. The upskilling and retention of our youth is of vital importance to the future of the region.

Our plans for an official launch event have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting event as the situation unfolds.

NIN is looking to employ a local staff member to coordinate grant applications, labour hire opportunities, safety compliance, drug and alcohol testing, IT services, financial services, legal services and consultancy for its members.

The future is exciting. Together, we can ensure the opportunities ahead create lasting growth and prosperity for Narrabri.
